Chandler Harris. Barbara is retired from the

In The Legend of the American Eagle, we are inspired by the patriots of the past through the poetry of Barbara Anne Rogers. Her words bring to life the early days of the American Revolution when brave men and women dreamed of living in a country where they could enjoy the basic freedoms we now have.

Young readers will learn how eagles brought courage to soldiers fighting for America’s liberty. A legend was born from one of those early battles of the Revolution and led to our Great Seal bearing the image of nature’s noblest bird.
