| Southern
Lion Books was founded in 1998
by J. H. Segars, author
and editor of a number of historical
books to include Andersonville:
A Southern Perspective (Pelican
Publishing Company); Life
in Dixie During the War (Mercer
University Press); and The
Bell Irvin Wiley Reader (LSU Press).
Segars earned his M.Ed. degree
from the University of Georgia
and, for eight years, served
as senior editor for Southern
Heritage Press of Murfreesboro,
Tennessee. |

| Our
contracted printers, jacket
designers, and typesetters
are national companies dedicated
to meeting the specific publishing
needs of our customers. Personal
attention sets us apart from
the large and impersonal subsidy
houses. And Southern Lion purposefully
limits the number of customers
that we work with at any one
time; this insures that each
project receives full attention
and quality service from our
editors. |
|
Initially,
the managing editor of Southern
Lion Books will review your manuscript
without charge and, within 30
days, make a decision regarding
the feasibility of handling your
project. If selected, a two-page
agreement will be submitted for
your review and approval. Thereafter,
planning, consultation, and book
production begins in earnest. |

Our creative team includes graphic artists, jacket designers, typesetters, and web designers who have worked in the field from ten to over thirty years.
These collaborative affiliates design for award-winning university presses, national publishing houses, and private businesses.
Several of our team members hold B.F.A. degrees in Graphic Design from the University of Georgia. |
