Our authors generally have their own market identified. They sell to a variety of markets to include historic societies, patriotic organizations, independent booksellers, Eastern National Bookstores at national parks, museums, and via web-based sellers such as Amazon.com (our favorite).
They also buy inexpensive advertisements in newspapers, magazines, and journals and sell books whenever they give presentations or speeches.
In addition, we are a member of PMA, the independent book publishers association; and, with your approval, will present your book for consideration to be sold in the large, major chains through that organization’s trade distribution program:
Here's how it works: Twice a year, PMA convenes a committee to look at titles from PMA publisher members that have not yet been stocked by the major chains and/or wholesalers for possible acceptance into both the chain and independent bookstore distribution method. The committee is comprised of representatives from Ingram, Baker & Taylor, Biblio, Barnes & Noble, Border's, independent bookstores and representatives from Independent Publishers Group, as well as independent rep firms. Each book or manuscript is looked at individually and discussed by the group as the possibility for success within the bookstore trade. If the book is accepted, Independent Publishers Group has agreed to act as a distributor for the title. If the book is rejected, the publisher will receive a brief comment as to the reasons for rejection.”

There are many ways to market a book but success, first and foremost, rests upon the quality of the product and upon the interests of educated book buyers. And, regardless of the types of promotion, sales are driven most often by the creativity and energy of the author.
